About The Band

Norse Gael were formed in the autumn of 2020. Drawing influence from the folk music of Europe. Being an Irish band, Gaelic music has always been very important, but we always love to explore all of the indigenous folk music of our European neighbours and genetic ancestors. Nordic culture as well as being fascinating, was a big influence on the early medieval civilisations of Ireland. 
In modern times, Ireland is rich with cultures from all over the world. The modern day Baltic, Slavic, Iberian and Mediterranean settlers have introduced their own cultures and mixed it with the ancient heritage of their new found home. Norse Gael have been heavily influenced by all of these cultures and are constantly adding to their sound to include all of these wonderful musical cultures.
